Warming up: Autumnal Textiles and Artwork to brighten up your home

As the Autumn months set in, we long for soft textiles, such as throws and blankets, to snuggle up with on the couch, and pieces of warm, inviting artwork to nourish the mind in the darker evenings. Below, some of our exhibitors for this year’s Autumn PTSB Ideal Home Show, demonstrate what they think makes the perfect warm and inviting home through both textiles and art pieces.

EZ Living Furniture

It’s time to start thinking about warming up our homes with some autumnal-themed decor. EZ Living Furniture has put together an edit of cost-effective items that will allow you to easily include some of the most recognisable colours of the current season.

For autumn, bring various shades of orange, mustard, rust, and warming browns and creams into your home.
Rugs can benefit a home in so many ways. If you have cold, tiled flooring, a rug can warm up your feet. They can also be used to bring colour into a room and tie an entire colour scheme together. Throws add texture and are a great way to add a splash of colour to neutral-toned rooms, and better still can warm you up when temperatures drop. Cushions, especially the furry kind, can make you feel instantly warmer, making them a staple accessory for this time of year. They are also interchangeable, allowing you to easily freshen up room after room.

Kukoon Rugs

Introducing the Renuu collection, comprising of 18 distinct designs that infuse your living space with personality and allure. Utilising cutting-edge techniques, each rug boasts unique accents, creating a harmonious blend never seen before.

From the intricate floral patterns to the exquisite chandelier motifs, every component was conceived with boundless creativity. Every minute detail was first sketched in a notebook and then transformed digitally for printing. Likewise, the colour palettes were a canvas for the designer’s imagination. For instance, the Lottie Green rug’s triadic colour scheme drew inspiration from the rustic charm of Cottage Core, capturing the essence of natural tones.

What sparked the creation of the Renuu collection? Designer Chloe aspired to craft a collection of sustainable rugs that would stand apart from the rest. Each piece carries its own unique narrative, injecting character and panache into any living space. “I am inspired by the world around me, from the intricate ironwork of an old park bench on St Stephen’s Green, to the wild heathers growing on the side of the Mourne Mountains.”

The Oriel Gallery

There’s more to textiles than furnishing and fabrics; bespoke pieces of art can be utilised to give warmth and comfort to any space in the home.

The Oriel Gallery is delighted to exhibit at the Ideal Homes Show again this season. The stand will feature a new collection of paintings and sculpture by leading Irish artists.

Managing director of the Oriel Gallery, Mandy Williams said: “I have been dealing with 20th century and contemporary paintings and artists for over 20 years. There are certain elements in an artist’s work that your instincts register and draw you in for a deep look.”

Gallery artist Ed Williamson

“The collection of hugely talented artists Mandy has there is incredible and I really wanted to be a part of such a prestigious gallery.”
