DFS Interiors Inspiration Centre

At the spring permanent tsb Ideal Home Show, four design creatives showed visitors ‘their thing’ at the DFS Interiors Inspiration Centre which took the form of 4 room sets packed full of personality. Lead designer was, Susan McGowan of Interior Architecture & Design Studio, Ashen & Cloud who designed the overall look and feel for DFS, drawing inspiration from the DFS new campaign championing personality-led interiors.

One of Ireland’s most loved designers and interiors Instagrammer Susan McGowan of Ashen & Cloud, designed the overall look and feel of the DFS Interiors Inspiration Centre. Her thing is relaxed family living and those who follow her Instagram account Ashen & Cloud will be familiar with her beautiful designs.

“My thing is relaxed family living and my goal for this space is to always to make sure your home enhances how you live your life, through design, colour and comfort.”

Joanne Mooney – the Queen of Colour

The queen of creativity in Ireland – is known for her love of colour and creative projects. Joanne epitomises personality led interiors with her hand stencilled bathroom floor, her love for handmade & homemade, her multiple punch needle projects and how she has injected personality and colour into nearly every inch of her home.

“My thing is bold colour and vibrant style and a strong belief that anyone can be creative. In my room you can see how my personality shines through in the room that I have created.”

Anne Marie Boyhan, The Sleep Care Company

Anne Marie Boyhan is a holistic sleep expert and speaker, Spencer Institute certified sleep science coach and functional diagnostic nutrition trainee. Anne Marie set up wellness brand The Sleep Care Company due to her passion for great sleep, health and wellness.

“My thing is sleep and I have curated a space to help you find calm and comfort in your sleep and self-care rituals. For inspiration on how to apply those principles to your own bedroom to optimise your sleep, please visit my bedroom in the DFS Interiors Inspiration Centre.”

David O’Brien, Black House

A talented project manager and interior designer, David O’Brien was deservedly a finalist in last years’ RTE Home of the Year.  David’s thing is sustainable and sentimental interiors; who can forget the stunning 1850’s grand piano used as a kitchen Island in his fabulous Black House in Co Cork.

Centre to his room is the stunning Tenby sofa, from the Grand Designs collection available exclusively at DFS. The Tenby sofa features fabric made from recycled polyester yarns, back and scatter cushions filled with 100% recycled poly fibres, and seat cushion filling made using 50% recycled plastic, with approximately 200 recycled plastic bottles used in each seat cushion.
